Art in Law and Law in Art, The UWA Law School

The Art in Law in Art Conference will be held in the beautiful Perth Cultural Precinct at Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth, 4-6 July 2017.

Art in Law in Art is an interdisciplinary conference investigating the broad themes of how law sees visual art, and how visual art sees law. The Conference will be an exciting mix of different perspectives from international experts on the art-law news, as scholars, practitioners and artists come together and exchange ideas.

The Conference has two main themes: Art in Law and Law in Art.

This Conference will be relevant to international scholars, legal and artistic practitioners and artistic and cultural institutions. Scholars and practitioners from across the disciplines, including legal scholars and practitioners, aesthetic and legal philosophers, artists, art theorists and legal and art historians are all invited to contribute to the Conference program.

Keynote speaker: Carey Young.

A 300-word abstract as well as a one-paragraph bio should be submitted by 4th December 2016. to conference-law@uwa.edu.au. Acceptance will be notified by 4 February 2017.
